Gravelanche Version 1.2 ALPHA

Version 1.2 A is finally here!

This update brings sound effects, new animations, new features and a much more balanced experience. Keep in mind that this is still an alpha version, so Gravelanche may be different for its actual release. With that being said, here is a list of the new things in the update:

  1. Basic sound effects were added for most actions in the game. There will be more down the line, though!

  2. There is a new tumble animation when falling near the edge of the level. When in this animation, you can't move left or right. This prevents a cheese strategy of dropping to a new ledge by walking. You can still drill in this state though

  3. There is a new sliding feature after a successful grapple. If you hold down a click before you start drilling, you will slide down the wall and can pick a new drilling trajectory. There is a limit on this; you can't use it twice in a row.

  4. New scaling for scrolling speed has been implemented. You drill faster, go farther and even swim faster when you have a pretty high score.

  5. Drilling through one block will make your drill overheat faster (top left bar)

Doing a "full drill" will cool down your drill. There are yellow particles that signify this.

  1. Taking a minecart will no longer delete your score, making mineshafts extremely useful.

  2. Starting and finishing a powerup is now safer. The "gravelanche" will be thrown back and slowly speed up.

  3. Gravity has been altered. It now follows a slow acceleration curve that makes popping out feel more natural.

  4. Animations have been altered, and a new idle animation was added.

There were also several bug fixes that were too minor to go over in a list. Thanks for checking this out, and more updates on 1.3A will be coming soon!
